Welcome to the homepage of the Residents Action Movement, better known as RAM! Our site is under construction so please bear with our web efforts.

We are a broad left movement and party in New Zealand, with a particular focus on Auckland local body politics. Our vision is of a better life for all ordinary New Zealanders through progressive policies and a positive vision of a new society. We are proud to be both a campaigning movement and electoral organisation, with such successes as huge media publicity and more than 50,000 signatures for the GST-off-food petition and the election of Robyn Hughes to the Auckland Regional Council as RAM's first representative to hold office.

RAM has endorsed Green Party candidate Russel Norman in the upcoming Mount Albert by-election. After discussion at all levels of RAM, primarily at the level of our Auckland Executive, we decided that Russel Norman is the best choice for RAM supporters in the Mount Albert by-election. We earnestly apologise for the lack of activity on RAM's website since the election. Our movement is alive and kicking, and we will be bringing the site back up to date with happenings on the ground over the coming weeks

RAM's National Conference in March yielded in-depth discussion around the state of New Zealand politics and economics, a new party Executive/Council and Secretariat, and a fresh mandate to continue with our style of grassroots community action.

Grant Brookes was elected Chairman of RAM, and Elliot Blade Vice Chair. Alongside them on the Secretariat are Daphne Lawless and Oliver Woods. A new Executive, now named Council, was elected, along with various other positions. The details of the newly elected officers will be provided as the site is further updated.

In the meantime, if you would like to contact RAM Chair Grant Brookes for any inquiries, you can e-mail him at grant.brookes@ram.org.nz .
